Good to know before you visit
What age do you need to be for VR at Velocity VR?
The minimum age for all VR experiences at Velocity VR is 8 years old. Games can also be restricted to age-appropriate content for younger groups on request, so families with kids from 8 up are welcome. In addition we have some games restricted just for teenagers and adults.
Will we be mixed in with other groups?
No. Every booking is private — your group gets the space to yourselves. You won't be placed with strangers.
Do you cater for birthday parties and groups?
Yes — it's one of our most popular bookings. We run VR birthday parties for kids and adults, as well as corporate days, stags, hens, school groups and social clubs. See our packages →
Is there a VR arena in Waterford?
Yes — Velocity VR on the Tramore Road is Ireland's first free roaming VR arena, open since 2019. It offers a 10×10m cable-free Free Roaming Arena alongside individual VR Gaming Bays with multiplayer games and escape rooms.
I don't know what to book — where do I start?
It depends how your group likes to play. The Gaming Bays give you your own pod but with multiplayer games and escape rooms available to play together. Free Roaming Arena is a big cable-free open space — your group physically moves around one shared space. Either way, our staff can help you pick the game/experience on the day. Do I need to be a gamer?
Not at all. A big chunk of our visitors have never played VR before and have a brilliant time. Our staff are there to walk you through everything — no experience needed whatsoever.
